The sound of steam trains returns to hills of Staffordshire this weekend as Foxfield Railway in Blythe Bridge opens its doors to the 2013 season! The last train ran on the railway on Christmas Eve and after the annual winter maintenance period Foxfield’s steam engines are ready roll again.

The weather the ultimate maker and breaker of anyone’s day and  Foxfield were no exception. The railway was subjected to tons of snow covering the line from the main station at Caverswall Road right through to Dilhorne Park. In places five foot of snow had gathered on top of the rails making it impossible to pass through with normal steam trains!

Yes, that's right a black five will be visiting Foxfield Railway for our Autumn Steam Gala. Obviously we are overwhelmed at the agreement to bring such an engine to Foxfield and can't wait to see it at work on our banks. Black Five's were often a common sight around Stoke hauling coal trucks from the exchange sidings so it is only fitting that we can bring one in for this event.

Saturday Only. ‘BAGNALL PRIDE’ The start of the gala weekend will feature ‘2842’, ‘Florence No.2’ and Diesel ‘Wolstanton’ departing from Caverswall Road station at around 6:15am ready to be in place at Foxfield Colliery for a morning photographer’s charter.

Its that time of year again when we all start getting ready for the visit of the man in red...

Just a reminder that you are welcome this coming Saturday to attend the Arnold Bennett night at the railway commencing at 7pm. There is no admission charge but please feel free to make a donation towards the knotty coach project. There will be a couple of short stories and a Bennett quiz, so if you fancy a jackanory style night out visualising the past, but supporting the future, then come along. I look forward to welcoming you.

This weekend in Blythe Bridge, Staffordshire Foxfield Railway will be celebrating the success of the miniature railway run and built by youngsters aged between 12 and 18!

If you go down to the Railway on Wednesday you’re in for a big surprise! We’re having a fabulous teddy bears’ picnic that all kiddies and their bears are invited to!

A recent visitor to the Railway celebrated the magnificent milestone of 100 years old - and showed no signs of slowing down!

Don't forget to treat your dad's to a father's day out! We have over 40 visiting morris minors at the railway, steam trains and a real ale bar! What's not to like!

Father’s day at Foxfield Railway will see up to 40 Morris minor car’s and van’s on display throughout the day. These vintage machines often descend on Foxfield around this time of year and so to tie the event in with Father’s day helps to add something different to the ever expanding events at the railway.

June 24^th will see the 2012 series of Steam Cream Land Cruises trains start again at the Foxfield Railway...

The NSR Rolling Stock Restoration Trust has the pleasure to announce that it has received major grant aid of up to £30,000 towards the restoration to running order of former NSR coach number 127.

Preservation can be seen in all its glory, this summer as the Foxfield Railway in Blythe Bridge stages its show topping, 'Steam Gala' event. Taking place on the 21^stand 22^nd July.

May, 7^th saw the launch of the NEW residents’ card at the Foxfield Railway in Blythe Bridge. The card allows people living within a 3 mile radius the chance to ride on the railway for 25% less than the normal cost.

The Launch of our new resident’s card will take prominence over our first resident’s day...

The North Staffordshire Division of Lions International hold an annual day at Waterworld Aqua Park in Stoke-on-Trent for young people with special needs - this year Foxey was invited to help out!
